1st trip to the dentist

{Brooke had fun, Max was wiped out}

August was the first trip to the dentist for Brooke, Max and Jake. I know what you're thinking, and yes I'm a bad mother when it comes to dental health. Just ask Sam who had to undergo surgery to have a tooth removed and a bunch of work done. Poor kid! You would think after all that he would want to brush his teeth, but no, still it's a big fight. Anywho.... Brooke and Max had no cavities and Jake had about 10, sooo I guess we will try harder.

Max turned 2!!

July 5th Max turned 2!!

It was a Sunday and I didn't know we were out of bday candles...

luckily I had a taper that I could break in half...

There was lots of practicing...

Someone may have even tried eating the candles...

Then it was time for gifts

He got a diego bike....that he hated.......

until the other kids went away.........then he loved it~

Their new favorite way to go in the street is to sit on the skateboards and ride down the slight incline of the driveway.

18 month old monkey

Yesterday Sam came and told me Max was in the sink.

This is what I found...

apparently Brooke had felt the need to move the bench over to the counter and Max took full advantage of it.

he just wanted to peel himself an orange...

The funniest part was that he saw nothing wrong with his situation. No knowing smile, no nervous cry, just enjoying some fruit.

And serious about it.

1st Day of Nursery

R baby is growing up.

Today was his 1st day of Nursery and he did great!

{Our ward switched back to 9 am church from 1 o'clock so it's kind of a big difference to have so much free time on Sunday. What to do all afternoon!}

He is in the same class as Brooke so that may have helped, and Brooke is out of the class with the teacher that called her "Brooks" all last year so we are all happy!

only 2 more months til nursery

Jim threw his back out so he stayed home from church today and I had to play the piano for primary so Max got to try out nursery for a little while. They didn't let him stay long because he was messing up the other kids craft projects. oh well, hopefully when he is official he will be in the class where they just play, no complicated crafts :)

Sunday was the 15 month mark for this guy.
People tell me how well he walks... I thought it was just normal...
He says "dat" and points to whatever he wants...
He still sleeps with us and won't go to sleep in his own bed...
He is mastering going down stairs now...
He tolerates it when Brooke knocks him down and sits on him...(for about a minute)
He loves his momma and dada...
and we love him!

From Maximum to Minimum

Max went in for his 1 yr well check and he is what doctors call "a little shrimp". He's only in the 20th percentile for height and the 8th % for weight. We got him a bigger car seat and turned it around even though he is just under 20 lbs (don't tell the cops) The PA said he should gain it in the next 2 weeks so no worries. His excema on his face is breaking out like crazy again though so I'm afraid he may be allergic to cow milk since he's been guzzling it down. We'll see. Has anyone tried Rice Milk? I hear from my vegetarian friends that it's pretty good. I tried soy with Jake when his excema was really bad, but never kept it up long enough to see a difference. I guess only time will tell... here he is on his birthday... don't mind the dirty face :) he's still adorable!

Our Baby is 1 Today!

Dear Max,

Happy Birthday Baby!

You are such a sweetie baby! I have often told people that you were my reward baby after the other kids because you were such a good eater and sleeper. Up until you were about 4 months old and started teething. Then reality kicked in and you figured you needed to scream a lot to make your demands heard. Daddy nicknamed you "Fire Alarm" because of your incessant, deep, guttaral wails. You were (still are kinda) also a SERIOUS mamma's boy and would not be satisfied with anyone else. Lucky for Mom you have become much friendlier with others and have stopped freaking out when you get handed off to people like Aunt Le'a and Grandma and Grandpa Goodman. You'll even fall asleep with Daddy once in a while.

Now as you are starting to get serious about walking, and testing your limits, standing up in the stroller and the grocery cart I can tell you are learning a lot from your brothers and sister ...and hopefully you will survive :)

We love you so much! You are definitely our favorite baby of the year :)

Excuses, excuses and a cute pillow

I have lots of reasons for not blogging lately, mostly, I haven't taken any pics of anything lately and I have been sick and it has been really hot, and wimbledon coverage has been on, and the olympic trials, and the list goes on... (OK I just noticed wimbledon is going on and I never watch it) We had a 2 week lull between sessions of swim lessons and I am really glad they started up again today. It's good to have a routine that gets us up and out of the house for a while. NOT like school at all :) The big boys have been real b-o-y-s lately and I am ready to ship them off to military school. The Princess has been mastering her yes and no skills and ruining all her clothes with mud and popcicles. And this guy is taking a handful of steps, and more each day, especially if he thinks I'm not looking.

Jim would like to know when I am going to stop buying "weird" random pillows. I told him I have never bought a "weird" pillow so how can I stop? :)

It was only 6 bucks at Ross and it looks pretty patriotic with my blue denim slipcovers.

The Goodmans are converging on Utah this week so hopefully I will get some good pics!

10 Months Old Today!

He has a fever today. Poor guy!

See the bruise by his eye? I don't even know how he got that!

His rashy face has cleared up some again, but it's all up his arm too.

I need to take him for his "well" check and he'll have to get catch up shots too.

On the + side he is getting ready to walk, can stand for a sec alone, has 2 more teeth on the top cut through and has really cut down on the screaming only for Mom! Yeah!!!
